Best In Town exists to make one thing easier: choosing a local business you can trust. Whether it is a plumber, a pediatrician, a tax preparer or a place to eat, most people rely on a quick search and a star rating. We think you deserve better tools than that.
What we publish
Our core content is a set of category guides covering home services, healthcare, professional services, dining, auto repair, education, legal and financial services. Each guide explains how that kind of business is regulated, which free public tools let you verify a provider, what should be in writing and which warning signs to watch for.
We do not currently publish individual business listings, rankings or ratings. If and when we do, every listing will be checked against public records and our editorial standards, and no business will be able to pay for inclusion or a better position.
Who we are
Best In Town is published by LocalBlitz Systems, a company that works with local businesses on their online presence. The site is owned by Simon White. Because our publisher works in the local business space, we keep this site's editorial content separate from any commercial work: we do not feature, rank or promote LocalBlitz clients here, and nothing on Best In Town is sponsored.
Our history
Best In Town launched in spring 2026 as a short introduction to local business research. In September 2026 we rebuilt the site around detailed, source-based guides, added our editorial standards and expanded our privacy and terms pages.
Our principles
- Independence: no paid placements, affiliate links or sponsored rankings.
- Accuracy: we cite official sources such as licensing boards, federal agencies and regulators, and we review guides regularly.
- Honesty: we never invent reviews, ratings, businesses or credentials.
- Accountability: we correct verified errors promptly and note significant updates.
